Hi everyone

I've been upgrading my PC lately but im not sure as to which CPU cooler to choose. I've never had a water cooler before so i've always been touch and go with them but i keep hearing about the Corsair H100i now and then.

I've also heard of the Noctua NH-D15 but im not to sure if my case would even be big enough to house it. I would prefer an air cooler as i have more knowledge with them but i am willing to learn about water cooling as long as im pointed in the right direction, i don't want to screw it up and kill my only PC.

Which should i choose or if you know of a fantastic CPU cooler, i have a budget of around $180 AU and im after a long term CPU cooler for my system.

My specs are:
- MSI Z77 MPOWER Motherboard
- Intel Core i7 3770K
- MSI GeForce GTX 760 Gaming Edition OC 2GB
- Corsair Dominator Platinum 8GB (2x 4GB)
- Corsair AX760 Platinum Power Supply
- It's all housed in a Corsair Carbide 300R Compact Gaming Case

Thanks :)

I would get the Noctua or the Phanteks ph-tc 14. They are as good as the H100i unless you put 4 fans on it in a push/pull configuration, cheaper, quieter and have no parts that can break.

The all in one water coolers can also leave the motherboard's VRM modules hot and the air coolers help cool the board.

+1 on NH-D15, better or close temps with less noise.

Better temps with louder aftermarket static pressure fans.
Easy installation, extra cooling for MB.
Future proof. It's a piece of metal, not much to break.
Most important, peace of mind! No leaking risks.

Thanks for the replies, i've decided to rock with the NH-D15 and as Anort3 said it would keep my board cooler as well. Thankyou for the input im going to go and get myself that D15 for my system.

Thanks again.
