Hello guys.

I was hoping to get your opinion on a PC build that I am thinking about pulling the trigger on:

    1) I want to build a gaming PC that is not going to be used for anything else other than gaming. I want it to last a while and be able to just have to upgrade the GPUs to keep up with system requirements to play the latest games when using Oculus Rift when the consumer version comes out.
    2) I don't want a really loud and hot PC. I don't want the GPUs to be over clocked decreasing life expectancy and producing more heat that require the fans to operate at higher rates creating more noise.

Here is the link to my build:

Initially I'll only get the one GPU and get a second one later if I have the need for it and the discretionary funds to purchase it at the time. Now on to my questions:

    1) Is the power supply enough?
    2) Is the case a good size to provide good airflow?
    3) For a pure gaming PC, do I really need 256 GB of storage?
    4) Was it a good decision to go for the ATX 2.0 over the SC ATX 2.0 GPU to increase longevity and decrease heat and sound output?
    5) Is there anything I should consider about this build?
    6) Are there any possible issues you see in this build?

Thanks for your time in reading this.

Solution
1. No, I do not recommend a 650 watt for 2 980s. I would only go with an 850, considering you may be OCIng(assumed because of the cooler)...

2. Its good, for what you need.

3. If this is just for gaming, a bigger SSD, 512 gig or a 256 gig ssd with a 1tb hdd is highly recommend because games can take up a lot of space..

4. You wont really see a big differnece in either versions.

5. I would go with air cooling (noctua d15/d14) because I have had a troubling 120mm aio, and I believe, by getting a water cooler, you have another component that could fail.

6. Other than the PSU, not really. You do not need the thermal paste since it comes with it pre installed..

I would go like this

Also, you could wait on this build an get the new 390x, which has so far, looked pretty good performance wise

1) The Power Supply should be, but you could always play it safe (or more safe than it already is) and get a 700 watt - 750 watt power supply.

2) I'm not too familiar with full tower cases, as i've used more mid towers. I think the case should be good enough, and it comes from a reputable brand. It does matter on the way you configure your fans. I
ll forward you to a link with a good fan setup for reliable airflow.

3) Well I wouldn't know, I don't use SSD's that much but i might get one. You'll need a bigger SSD though!

4) I'm not sure you would hear the sound over a headset transmitting audio. I like keeping heat down, but it's your decision if you want to get the SC ATX 2.0 GPU.

5) As a CPU Cooler, A Swiftech H220-X Liquid Cooler would be a better choice, but that's my opinion.

6) If you get the second graphics card, you might need at least a 750 watt power supply, and I never like the fact that even if it is like a 1 percent chance that a liquid cooling system might leak, there's still a chance. Also, it's not an issue, but I like Gigabyte and MSI GPU's, but the GPU manufacturer is your choice entirely.

Overall: I think your build is looking pretty good! I hope this answer helped!

Also like the guy above said, water cooling isn't as reliable as air cooling so just reinforce that.
