I am having an interesting issue with my MSI GT70-20D I attempted to connect a Bluetooth keyboard after updating the Atheros WiFi adapter driver. There were no Bluetooth settings available. I then went to the MSI website and got the latest Atheros Bluetooth driver, installed, and restarted. At first the Bluetooth driver popped up in device manager as well as in the stupid W8.1 devices page. When I attempted to pair a device, it disappeared right from under my curser. I went back to device manager and it was in a continuous loop of refreshing. The first few times, I saw the Bluetooth driver appear and disappear, then it disappeared altogether. I though maybe my driver download was corrupt, I downloaded and installed again--same result. What I am wondering is if I did not delete the old driver, is it in there somewhere causing me problems?

Have you updated the BIOS lately? There are several new versions, latest is 3-15-2013.

If MSI has forums, I'd try there also, as this is very machine specific.

You also might try doing a windows system restore to a date prior to the issues.

I actually did update the BIOS about a month ago. I'm wondering if it may be related to a recent Windows update or the updated Bluetooth driver itself. I will check out the MSI forums in greater detail when I have more time. A cursory look returned nothing about this issue. What led me to Tomshardware was a post made about a month ago with a few people having similar issues:

I originally replied on that post as there seemed to be no answer yet. I was told that post was too old to comment on and to create my own thread, so here I am.
