I tripped over the power and USB cables of my Seagate 1TB external HD (whilst connected to my laptop) causing them to become unplugged and the whole unit to fall on the floor.

It powers on (makes the whirring noise) and then produces a two-note beeping sound for 20 seconds. The green power light stays on, but the drive stops whirring.
It doesn't register on laptop in device management either, and I've tried several methods from other posts, all to no avail.

Is there any way to recover my data?

Hey helsiBet. Unfortunately it does sound pretty bad. Your best bet is that the drive's enclosure is the one that's failing although it seems like the drive might be on its way too. :(
This is usually not recommended at all and should be done only as a last resort, but if you need data recovered from that drive, you could try to take it out of the enclosure and connect it directly to the mobo of a desktop computer via a SATA cable or externally ( to any computer via a SATA to USB, cable, external enclosure or a docking station) to see if the drive is recognized properly and if it doesn't stop spinning. Note that this would probably void the drive's warranty if it still has one (but the damage it probably suffered after the fall, most likely did that already so it's up to you).
If that doesn't work, you could try accessing it via Linux Live USB/CD or a data recovery program from this thread: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html, but I'm afraid that if there's too much physical damage, your most reliable option might be a professional solution such as a data recovery company.

Hope that helps. Good luck!
