Hello and thank you for reading this thread!

So I was cleaning my gpu because it was very dirty and it was making loud noises after cleaning it I put it back in my pc and I notice that it is very very slow, Even on the login screen it takes like 5 seconds after i press enter for the screensaver to disappear so i can enter my password! So i took out my ram,cpu cooler, gpu and, put it all back in and booted up the pc again, and same thing happens, it takes for ever for it to open, so after reading a few threads I read about stopping the one drive service, so I did with a reg file that I downloaded and after a few seconds my disk is no longer at 100%, and so I ran tomb raider at ultimate video quality and 1920x1080 resolution for like 5 minutes and had no problem! So just to test everything is really ok I rebooted my pc and the same thing happens! so leaves me to think that only worked because I had it on the desktop for a while, because this time I also stopped the BITS service, super fetch, windows search, turned off automatic updates and still the same thing! I formatted my pc like 3 days ago and everything ran smoothly! I don't know what happened but I think its time to get a new hdd (4 years old) because this one has been giving me problems! I ran chkdsk and had an error!

From the task manager screenshot, that hdd seems to be suffering from very little working. Do me a favor, download hd tune and do the test, then take a screenshot of that and show it to me. Also what hard drive you have? And i dont think the gpu has any thing to do with it. Maybe you touch the sata cable, change the cable if you have one or the slot in you have it connected to.

Hi there elpuxa,

After all the troubleshooting steps you've performed, my guess would be that the issue you are facing is HDD related. You need to back up the important data that is stored on the drive until you sort thins out. After that, you can just test the drive with a brand specific testing tool and see what the results will show.
It may be a good idea to try connecting the drive with different cables to a different SATA port as nucolos already suggested.
Also, if you have 2x4 RAM sticks, you can try booting up with only one of them at a time in order to test them.

Hope this will help,

So I took all the hdd cables out and I plugged them back in, and used hdd as you sugested and even booted up with only 1 ram (tried them both in difrent slots!)

Hdd tuner

error scan was made after fresh instal!

Howerver I was getting very frustrated with my pc so I used windows recovery and putted fresh files on my computer and it seems to be running just fine! So my guess is the problem is my hdd! And I should just format the whole thing again, maybe bad installation? Either way considering in getting a wd blue or a seagate barracuda both 7200 with 64mb cache!

Did everything you told me to! But I got very frustrated at my pc and just did a fresh file instalation keeping my current files just to test it! Seems the problem might be my hdd! He usually does this crap from time to time!

Yup, the problem is your hdd, definetly, your write speeds are extremely low according to hd tune, you see that the maxium it says 24.9 mbs and at the minimum it even stops completely? Just so you can compare, my hdd (WD Green) gives me a maximum of 170 mbs, and a minimum of 110 mbs. So yes, the problem is in your hard drive, i would recommend the wd blue.
