I agree with Backhus. The Xeon is the better choice. There are two things that I think need to be changed. First, you need a graphics card. Xeon's don't have graphics. I also don't care for is the power supply. It's a little expensive for the wattage and quality.

No a power supply is needed. But there are better choices out there. The quality brands/series: Antec, Corsair (TX, HX, AX), EVGA (B2, G2), Seasonic, Superflower, XFX.

I do have one question, why the Z87 board? The Xeons are designed for overclocking and your choice of power supply wattage makes the think you aren't going to pursue SLI. If you don't want either of those, then you really don't need a Z board. A H97 will save you money.
