So I was playing CS GO when my game froze and a few seconds later it said "Display driver has stopped working and has recovered..." This happens very frequently when I'm playing this game and doesn't really happen in other games. Sometimes I even get a huge fps drop and then the crash and message. My GPU is r9 270x (not overclocked) , CPU: Fx 8350 4,0 GHz and PSU: Raidmax 750W (yeah I know it's overkill)

Plenty of reasons why that can happen

I had it with an Nvidia card. I tried the regedit-fix, where I increased the timeout for something to 10 secs. CUDA stuff I think. I tried lots of different things. But for me the actual fix was to raise core voltage for the gfx card.

Amd is listing lot of stuff. I doubt reinstall of Windows will do anything that a repair or restore can't fix.

I had the same problem on a 295x2 and I noticed it was in a PCIx8 slot not PCIx16 slot, so I moved the card and it started working. Not sure what fixed it though it could be drivers referencing a different PCI slot, PCIx16 been better for the card (doubtful) or just a re-seat.

It's already in the PCIx16 slot

They're already set on default I haven't change anything. Could it be my sh^^y raidmax psu that's causing the problem?

How much did you raise the core voltage? And if this works your my hero, ive had this issue for about a year and it crashes every 15 minutes or so.

Since there was no real voltage controller on the Nvidia 760 GPU, 1.20 volts was the max I could get it to. So that's what I used. Stock was 1.18 volts.
