Is it possible to power a graphics card with a second psu. I acquired a free graphics card, and wanna test it before sell it online, but all my computers only have 300w psu's. I have a spare psu laying around, and wondered if it was possible instead of connecting the computers psu to the cards ide power connector, if I couldn't use the spare psu I have and connect it to the cards ide power connector long enough to see if the card works.

Yes you can run the card off a seperate power supply, but it's likely it wold not be a molex connector (which you are calling IDE) unless it's an older card. Make sure you have the right type of connector for the card, it would be a 4 or 6 pin PCIe power connector. Unless it's an older card, some of those have molex power connectors and I've seen some that use a floppy type connector for power.

I called it an ide power connector cause molex was stuck at the tip of my tongue. It has a molex connector as it's an older card from around 2005-2006.

It actually is a molex connector, the card is from around 2005-2006, QF 6800 XTreme to be exact.
