I have a 2009 Inspiron 1545. These are my current specs:

CPU: Intel Celeron Dual-Core CPU T3000 @ 1.80GHz
RAM: 4GB (Upgraded from original 3GB)
HDD: 320GB 5400RPM (Upgraded from original 250GB 5400RPM)

I don't want to buy a new laptop yet but this one it a little slow, I have 2 questions

1. Is a CPU upgrade on this laptop worthwhile
2. What is the best CPU this laptop will take

Thank you

Solution
[strike]1. I would say not. Laptops usually aren't worth a CPU upgrade due to the expensive price and incompatibility with some CPUs.
2. The best CPU is probably the Intel Core 2 Duo t9600. I have seen some forums saying that this will work with the 1545, but it is not guaranteed. Also, the CPU is $150

Edit: The t9600 probably won't work. The t9550 is 100% compatible however. And it's under $50. You can decide if it is worth it or not.

I know this is a really old reply (thank you BTW). I picket up the T9600 (Before you edited your post) and it works perfectly, no issues whatsoever (Im typing on the laptop now). Just thought I would let you know the T9600 works perfectly
