Hey All! I was wondering if a Dark Rock 3 Silent Wings Cooler would fit inside of my Antec Three Hundred Two Tower. I just want to make sure it fits with no problems!

2nd question... Would the fact that the cooler is 1197 grams (with fan) be an issue? I dont know much on this kinda computer components so I dont know what is safe! The motherboard is a ASRock 990Fx Extreme3!

Thanks all have a good day!

Solution
It should be fine. The case supports coolers up to 170mm in height, the dark rock 3 is 160mm tall. It's a pretty big cooler, about the same size as the dark rock pro 3 that I'm using. Just be careful when moving the pc around once it's installed. Moving it around some like placing it on a desk isn't a big deal. Caution should be used if transporting like in a car where hitting a bump could cause the heavy cooler to bounce and possibly damage the motherboard. In regular daily use on a desk it's no issue. I've used large air coolers for years without problems. The one before this was the cm v8 (866.4g), the dr pro 3 is a tad heavier than the dark rock 3.

Just a tip if you go with this cooler, rather than trying to mount the motherboard...

Your case is 228.6mm wide and the cooler is 163mm tall, it will fit. As for the weight, I'm sure they sell it with a pretty good mounting system in place, as long as you don't go around jumping around with your case, everything should be fine.

Just a tip if you go with this cooler, rather than trying to mount the motherboard into the case first it's MUCH easier to install the cpu and ram outside of the case first. Then turn the cooler upside down with the base plate facing up and lower the motherboard down onto it with the cpu facing down and thermal grease already applied. You'll avoid a lot of headache vs trying to hold it up with one hand inside a case and trying to fasten the mounting screws/nuts.

Awesome thanks good to here! I already have the PC built. Ive had it for a few months and the jet engine sound that comes from my stock cooler on my FX-8350 is starting to bug me! Do you suggest I take out the ram while mounting this? I dont really wanna risk taking out the CPU just because I dont really like having to handle it and risk bending a pen!

Oh I didn't realize you already had it built. No you don't have to remove the cpu or the ram. I meant if doing a new build, to install those things first but your situation is different. You may have to lay the case over on it's side to install the new cooler though. I just meant due to the weight of it, trying to line up the mounts of the cooler with the cooler backplate and the case standing like you typically use it may be difficult. Trying to hold a couple of pounds of metal up and align it while attaching sideways can be a royal pain.
