So I'm attempting to build a gaming PC with a $2,000 NZD budget

Currently my build is:

CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
& Western Digital WD Green 2TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive
GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card
Case: Corsair Graphite Series 230T Orange ATX Mid Tower Case
PSU: SeaSonic 650W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

with Windows 8.1

If there is anything that I have overlooked, or that could be better the advice would be appreciated
=D

It looks good. Perhaps you can buy a quality 550W PSU, as I think that would be a perfect match for your build. This is my suggestion:

In conclusion, your build looks pretty good. If you wanna overclock however, you need to choose a i5-xxxK-series CPU and an aftermarket CPU-cooler. But if you're not going to overclock, your build is sufficient as it is.
