i5 4690k at 4ghz with temp 75 degrees Celsius

hey guys i just overclocked my cpu to 4 ghz and im using a coolermaster 812 tpc and my max temp for a prime95 stress test for 15 minutes was 75 degrees celsius. is this fine or should i take it back to stick 3.5ghz where my max temp is 59 degrees celsius for a 30 minute test

75 degrees if definitely up there and ideally you want it cooler however prime 95 really pushes the cpu to it's limits. During gaming if your temp is a bit lower you will be fine.

Not ideal- what voltage are you running at? Also, did you put on too much/too little thermal paste?

its a safe temp, not ideal, but safe. all chips overclock different, my 4670k at 4ghz gets to the mid 70s after an hour of prime. at stock it was low 50s. whats your case cooling look like?

At 22C Standard Ambient, here's the typical operating range for Core temperature:

80C Hot (100% Load)
75C Warm
70C Warm (Heavy Load)
60C Norm
50C Norm (Medium Load)
40C Norm
30C Cool (Idle)

All we were trying to do is find ways to improve upon his temperatures. If it could be cooler, then that's just wasted potential, no?
