Any recommendations for an audio setup for recording/streaming console games?

So I'm just curious about what my options are as far as handling the audio while recording/streaming console games. Right now, I have everything going through OBS and my Elgato. I have a separate USB mic I use to commentate. My problem lies in trying to hear the game audio. Since I'm trying to capture the audio, I have it going through OBS and my Elgato. Therefore, I have to turn the game audio down on my TV in order to hear it and not have an echo due to my USB mic picking up the TV audio. Is there any way to hear it through my headphones while still recording the audio? As it stands, if I plug my headphones into my console, the audio is not captured. If I plug my headphones into the computer, I can hear the audio, but it's way behind what I'm seeing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. I currently use a pair of headphones that plug into devices using a single usb port. If I plug the usb into my PS4, for instance, it prevents the audio from reaching the stream. If I plug it into my computer (where my streaming programs are running), there is latency between the audio I hear and the video I see (obviously). I'm sorry I'm not understanding. Thank you for your help so far.

Sorry, I don't know what else you could try :[

My headphones use a transmitter which is why I recommended you plug in the other source (which you don't have). I don't use my headphones with my PS4 so I'm not 100% sure about the PS4's audio settings. I just hooked my PS4 up to my projector through HDMI and that was that :p
