We went from unlimited data to now 350 GBs per month. But it is much better internet for cheaper. We were paying $45 for 15 mb/s and now it's $25 for 50 mb/s. But to the question, how would I track network usage for each device? I am planning on getting a new router so if there is a certain router that somebody knows does this I would greatly appreciate it. But how would I do this as of now? Is there any custom software that tracks for each device? My current router tracks it as a total but I need to see for each device cause someone is using a bunch of it and you know how people are. "What? ME using it a lot? NO!"

The only router firmware I know that does this is called gargoyle. It is not as popular so the list of supported routers is less. The largest issue with this is holding data over a very long period of time. I have not spent the time to see where gargoyle stores it. In memory of course is very bad since power off and everything is gone. Best would be if it stored it to external flash but if it were to store it o the internal flash that is bad since that flash is not designed to be written too a lot and if it would go bad you have to toss the router.

The only real way to do this correctly is with a firewall with a diskdrive. Pfsense can do it but you would likely have to put AP in front of it to get good wireless support.
