My current PC components include:
Intel Core i7 4790k
Single (Eventually Dual) Asus GTX 980 Strix
8GB Corsair GDDR3 RAM
Case doesn't matter
ASRock Z97 Extreme3 Motherboard
Corsair CX600 power supply (What I will be upgrading)
Kingstone SSD NOW 120gb SSD with WD Blue (1TB)

How much wattage would I need for this setup with the single Asus GTX 980?
How much wattage would I need for this system if I were running two Asus GTX 980s?

I recommend XFX, EVGA (b2 or G2), or Antec (HCG or TPC) for PSU. I don't recommend Corsair.

best tool is an amp clamp. buy one. check the actual real power use of your exact system live as it is working.

of course, this assumes you already have a psu to power the thing in the first place. which you do. the CX600. so, run it and test it!!!
