single channel vs dual channel won't be matter too much, the performance will increased just for a small margin, the memory bandwidth might increase ( arround 10-20% ) but you won't notice the difference anyway unless you do some benchmark. The most important which matter about the memory is CAPACITY, then speed, latency, etc etc...

The difference between single channel and dual channel memory (keeping the capacity constant) is small in very low load situations, but becomes very pronounced as the load increases. The difference becomes even more pronounced if you are using integrated graphics. If your PC is limited to just simple web surfing, light browsing and watching videos, the single channel is sufficient. For anything more, the dual channel memory will give a noticeable jump in performance.
