On the Fractal Design R4 case, are the case fans PWM controllable?

I have 4 pin system fans slots on my mobo but these are 3 pin case fans. Any hiccups I should expect here? I recall on mobos 10 years ago, three pins could work, but were not PWM enabled.

Some MB's have a setting in BIOS that lets you switch from PWM to voltage control, even if the header is 4 pins. If your does, you can, if it doesnt, from my experience - you cannot. Though you can control by voltage the PWM fans, you cannot control by PWM the voltage controlled fans.

"switch from PWN to voltage control" as in leave it on its max capacity all the time? My mobo is suppose to be a PWM fan manager.

Another thing I'd ask is why does the front panel connector also have a fan connector? R4 Fractal Design case doesn't have a fan/pwm connector in the front and the front fans have their own connectors? That is confusing for me lol. Just seems to be an unpowered fan connector along with my other front panel connectors
