Hi, I just built a PC with a new core i7 4790k and a brand new ASUS Z97 deluxe mobo, as for the RAM I thought to use a corsair vengance 32gb kit (4x8gb). But when I first booted I got Q-code 55 "memory not installed". Tried a kingston hyperx 16gb kit (4x4gb) and the result was the same. Then I tried both sets of memory with the MEMOK button, and it did nothing. BTW both kits are 1600 and work fine on my other rigs.
At last I found a workaround by having just 2 slots ocupied but it's B1 and B2 leaving me with half my memory and working only in single channel mode.
Both kits can be found in the list provided by asus for compatible memory..

Any Ideas?

Solution
Try loosening the CPU cooler, may be too tight on a corner or side which can throw the MC (memory controller) off, then snug it back down, not overly tight, but snug. Other possibles would be check for bent pins in the socket (or debris, excess thermal compound, etc. Also possible got bad slots or a bad channel on the mobo.

tried loosening the water block, nothing, so i removed the cpu and there it was, a nanometrically bent pin, could hardly see the damn thing so i rectified the pin and finally got dual channel 32gb :D

thank you very much!!!
