I looked at multiple threads about this problem and I could not find an answer anywhere. This is my first build ever and when I tried to turn it on the first time DRAM_LED and CPU_LED lights were both red and I was unable to get anything to appear on my monitor. So I decided to start over by taking everything out and simply bread boarding it to see if I could find what was wrong. I checked the CPU for bent or broken pins (it was in perfect condition) then I placed the CPU Fan, RAM, GPU and attached it to my PSU. I turned it on and it ran perfectly and I got the BIOS screen! (I was so happy :pt1cable: ) I then proceeded to install everything in the case. The second time around I was able to do it faster cleaner and catch any mistakes I made the first time. Once I was done I booted it up and the CPU_LED light turned red again and I didn't get anything on my screen. I tried disconnecting certain things, disconnecting all the extra thing, reconnecting them all again and no change at all. So I tried taking out the motherboard again to breadboard it a second time and it worked. I tried everything I could when it was in the case. I no nothing is broken or dead. The only difference when I bread board it is that there are no screws holding it in the case. Could the screws be causing a short in the motherboard causing it not to boot up properly? The only red light now is the CPU_LED and I don't have a case speaker to listen to the beeps. :(

Did you check for an extra mounting post that could short the motherboard? Also make sure the backplate isn't causing the issue (it should be fully inserted in the slot). Are all motherboard mounting holes centered with the mounting posts? You usually have to push the motherboard towards the back of the case to line it up while tightening the first couple screws.

Ya I just woke up but im going to go and double check that there arn't any extra ones screwing it up. I also was worried about breaking the motherboard so I didnt really push it down to much but ill make sure the screws are in the right place this time. Hopefully this works

So as I tried putting in the mounting screws again and all of the fit just fine except for two. No matter what order I put them in it just would not grab. My mom decided while I was typing this actually to try it with one of my thumb screw and it worked. Does it matter what kind of screw it is as long as there is one there? The littler one just wouldn't attach to the case. It seemed as if it wasn't long enough.

Edit: Welp, I feel extremely stupid haha. I was using the mounting screws wrong. I now have it running like a charm and hopefully I won't make any noob mistakes again. Thank you for the help. :p
