I need a graphics card to go with my low-budget gaming build to run CS:GO on low settings at 200 - 250 fps.

Graphics card price under $500 USD.

Here is my Motherboard and APU.

Motherboard - MSI A78M - E35.

APU - AMD A10 5800k

Thank You.

Well 500 freedom dollars is plenty for a good upgrade. The A10 isn't a bad CPU so an i3 wouldn't be much of an upgrade, an i5 would be the minimum to make it worth doing:

i thought that's what you meant, but i didn't want to assume.

if you're on a budget, a gtx 750 ti is good enough to run that game on max settings (with AA and textures off).
LucoTF recommended this card to me & it hasn't let me down at all. I play some graphic intensive games on highest settings (again, sometimes with textures and shadows off).

Because he wants to be able to use his computer for more than 5 minutes without it blowing up.

Well if he were to get the MSI 280 for like 180$, money can be put towards a new mobo/cpu and still be able to play many other games on good settings.

An r9 280 is more future proof than a 750 ti

And that will get me 200+ fps on low settings?

you're missing the big picture tho.. he only asked what would allow him to play CS:GO at low settings. we gave him a solution that will allow him to play at max settings.

if he wants to upgrade everything completely, then sure we can recommend a bunch of stuff so his build won't be obsolete, but i don't think that's what he wants.

anything over 60fps is going to look the same to MOST people. i can't say whether you'll be over 200fps because i've never tried to reach said number.

i can tell you that i play league of legends on highest settings, which is not graphic intensive at all, and get about 150fps. but again, it's not something you are going to notice.

you'd be better off playing at 60-100 fps with high settings enabled for a better experience in game.

Its 140$ for the cheapest 750 ti(off newegg)
Its 150$ for the cheapest R9 270x(off newegg also)
The 270x is gonna get better performance in more games and last longer into the future, so when you do plan on upgrading everything else your GPU is up to date.

I already get 100 fps so that should make it much better.

R9 280 seems about right here. It's good enough that it can survive a CPU & mobo upgrade in future, while also being a good match for the incumbent CPU - a new PSU may also be needed with the r9 280, if your existing one can't handle a 250w card.

CSGO players are ALL about FPS. it's a twitch shooter, so people usually try to go for 150fps as a minimum. Whether it makes much difference is debatable, but this is the standard set by the CSGO community :)

i knew there was a reason i'm not pro yet. i'm too busy enjoying how pretty everything looks on max settings instead of worrying about my fps. :D:pt1cable: gotta change this when i get home today before i play LOL

But would you still upgrade the motherboard?
