First of all, I'm sorry for my bad english because i'm not a native, i'm Vietnamese :D

So I want to ask Between Intel Core i5 sereis and AMD FX series like the i5 4460 and FX 6300 which one is good for gaming and p/p I'm haven't a chance to use the AMD CPU so i'm don't know the AMD CPU si better or worst than Intel CPU ? The Intel Core i5 price in Viet Nam here is around 200-250 USD and the AMD FX 6300 is around 100-150 USD. So can someone tell me the different between two CPU I just listed and which one is P/P and good for gaming :)

number of cores , clock speeds and other things are meaningless
when you are trying to compare different technologies .
haswell cpus have much better single core performance ,
they produce less heat and consume less power

if your budget is low then buy i3 4130/4150/4160 cpu , cheap mATX h81 motherboard
and the most powerfull gpu which your budget will allow you to get .
even i3 haswell chips are smarter choice these days .
any haswell i5 processor will crush fx 6300 in gaming performance and anything else you throw at it .
even fx 8 core cpus cannot keep up with i5 in most games .

just keep in mind you need balance in your build :
for example: i5 with 80 dollar graphics doesn´t make any sense for gaming .
you will need at least 270x and higher performing video card
to really enjoy 1080p gaming with your i5 cpu .
you also need good quality power supply , case etc .

the i5 its an overall better processor than the amd one, the intel is newer and better in single core and multiple cores than the FX. The intel is a bit expensive there, if you're on a tight budget the FX is still capable for gaming but if you can afford it go with the intel. If you decide to go with the amd consider overclocking it which is the only advantage it has over the intel.

It is more important that you get a high quality GPU if gaming is your priority. A FX 6300 will be more than sufficient to provide high level gaming as less than 10% of current games will be held back by it. The $100 savings will allow you to buy a better GPU. The GPU will hold you back on more games than the CPU ever will. This is true now and will be even truer once games are released on Direct X 12 in the coming years. DX12 pushes more of the workload onto the GPU making the CPU an afterthought in the very near future.

i3 will do the same or better job
(with no overclocking needed and with cheaper motherboard and stock cooler)

so he will be able to spend whatever is left of his budget
to buy the gpu and good enough power supply .

he will also get better upgrade path with i3 .
