I'm wondering which GPU set up should I invest in, what I would like to do is run three monitors in 1080p. I have around $1,000 to spend. I was thinking a single 980 or 970 in Sli or 780 ti in Sli or maybe something in 3 way sli?

My current build...
I7-4790k

Asus Z97-a

GSkill Rip jaws 16gb (1866)

1000w Rosewill lighting PS

WD Black HDD 1tb

OCZ SSD 120gb

EVGA GTX 570 (I know it's not the best but it was free)

Full tower

It just depends on which one you really want. GTX 980 is very good but not worth the price. AMD R9 295 X2 is an amzing card and with the same price as the GTX 980? It's definitely an option you should be looking at. Seeing that it's a dual GPU in one card? But priced very close to a lot of GTX 980 variants? It's just really tough to beat! Also, it's one of the most powerful card that you can get out there!

the gtx 970 is ok for one card but nor recomended for sli unless a more vRAM version cames out
better wait for AMD 3xx series and see if theres one good option, now if you really need, but i mean really need a nvidia GPU maybe you shoould consider a titan X
head to head with the R9 295X and its just one GPU (well actually the 295x is better but by so little marge and not in all games as we can see)
