This is a repost. I think I might if posted it to early

Here is my partpicker:
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/cHL4hM

My budget is 500-600. I will be playing steam game COD AW, Dying Light etc. I am trying to get my list down so before mail-in rebates it around 500-600. Any advise would be great!!

I will also be recording on the machine and editing videos. I was thinking of an Intel Pentium G3258. But decide to spend the extra money on an i5 so I wouldn't have to switch out in the future. I am looking at OCing my i5 as well. I believe the 500 Watt PSU will be good for the system and once I can get a better card then I won't have to get a new PSU.

What are your thoughts? Maybe some things you would change to save some money? Or just a completely different build?

Any help is appreciated! I am ready to pull the trigger today to get my new system :)

note: I already have OS and SSD

There's no need to drop down to a pentium, but I would strongly consider swapping to a non-overclockable CPU and motherboard, which will save quite a bit of money. (Or even just install it with the stock fan and upgrade the cooler later?)

You can drop the DVD drive - you can install windows from a USB stick, and practically nobody makes use of DVD drives anymore.

Your power supply is an issue. For the $70 you pay for that thing, you could get an XFX 550w of way, way better quality for $10 less.

You dont need to overclock especially now.
CPU i5 - 4460 just as good
take the cooler away as it comes in the box with a a standard one.
case : Corsair SPEC-01 RED ATX Mid Tower Case or Corsair SPEC-03 Red ATX Mid Tower Case
that is all in your budget and will work . check it out. you can try H97 for now also as a motherboard. Z is for gaming hard and video editing . so not needed at the moment .

I like the thought of planning ahead.

There is really not much you can effectively do without reducing function.

Here are some thoughts:

1. Most any Z97 motherboard will allow you to oc a 4690K.
ECS is not well known, but I was pleased with a earlier motherboard
Here is a M-ATX version for $65

2. You could defer on the cpu cooler. The stock cooler will do the job up to an oc around 4.0.
It might get noisy under load.

3. Cases are a personal thing, and I would encourage you to buy one you love. Even if you need to bust your budget. It will be with you for a long time. To go real cheap, don't use a case at all. This idea won't work if you have kids or cats around. I think you can buy cheap cases for $25 or so.
But, I would encourage you to buy a nice case with two 120mm intake fans to accommodate a future high performing graphics card.
I can recommend the Silverstone PS-07 for a M-ATX motherboard.

4. Corsair is a fair budget psu. Again, I suggest buying a quality unit.
This XFX 550w psu is a tier one unit that costs about the same.

You can check psu quality of other units here:

5. Since you plan on upgrading your graphics in the future, why not omit the graphics card entirely to begin with.
Intel integrated graphics is not the greatest, but it works. If your games are cpu limited, you may do ok. At the very least, you will have a better idea of how much graphics you really need.

5. You are picking a i5 so you won't have to swap it out. Good idea.
Your plan is to swap out a $150 graphics card in favor of something like a $200 GTX960 or $330 GTX970.
But, if you think graphics will be your early limiting factor, perhaps a better strategy is your original one to use a $65 G3258 allowing you to get your desired graphics card up front.
Then, when swap out time comes, you are likely to lose less replacing a $65 cpu than a $150 graphics card.

What I might do is get the G3258. And oc it but I am worried how our will do with recording game play and editing videos. What would your suggestion be on that. Because it does make since to swap out a 70 cpu versus a 150 gpu

I might just go for the G3258 for the CPU for now. So that way I can get a better GPU because it makes sense to replace a 70 dollar CPU verse a 150 GPU. What would you suggest a good GPU would be with that CPU. Also since I will be OCing this CPU I believe I should still keep the aftermarket cooler, correct? As far as a case go I am not that picky as long as it will hold everything inside for a decent price. I am just worried about recording games and editing videos with the G3258.
