I'm thinking of getting this GPU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487128

Currently I have a cooler master extreme power plus
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171031

I noticed that the 960 requires an 8 pin connector, but my PSU only has one 6 pin pci-e connector. Will the 6 pin suffice for the 960? The card does have a really decent TDP (somewhere between 125-145w I think) or will I have to get a new PSU? IF I need a new psu with an 8 pin connector, which one do you guys recommend?

Solution
That's not a very high quality PSU. Its 2 x 18A (+12V) rails @ 360W put it more in the 400W class. And, considering it is "Not Recommend for stressful situations"...

... and considering that is the highest wattage of the GTX 960 cards, and considering the card requires an 8 pin PCIe connector and your PSU only has 1 x 6 pin... I'd avoid it.
Will it work with an adapter? Yes, probably. But for how long at at what damage over time to the card and the system, it's hard to say.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I realized a while after I bought it that the PSU wasn't the most reliable thing around. It's served me well for 2 years but then I'm pretty sure i'm lucky with it (I also use an AMD 7850 right now so that probably helps to haha)

I checked in that PSU quality 2.0 guide, and i saw some interesting PSUs. What do you think of the Evga 600b? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438014

Do you have any other recommendations in the 500-600w range?

You think so? I was interested in the gtx 960 4GB because of the lower TDP and the free Witcher 3 code. I guess the first concern is redundant if i'm also getting a much better PSU with a higher wattage. Is the extra heat going to be a problem? I have a 200mm case fan on the front and a 120mm for exhaust, would you recommend getting another 200mm fan on the top?

Decisions... decisions... lol.

I read on r/buildapc "its 128-bit bus means it can't physically even transfer frames fast enough to utilise 4GB in gaming." (about the 960), do you two think this is accurate? 4GB does seem like overkill for 1080p when it comes to most games, but Skyrim with mods will be hitting 2GB easily in the more intensive areas. That's the reason the 4GB seemed so appealing, paired with the low power usage/heat. So pretty much it's 4GB with lower power/heat vs 3.5 GB with seemingly more consistent performance (and slightly better), and more power usage/heat. What do you guys think? Also, the free Witcher 3 can be a factor lol.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202137&cm_re=r9_280x-_-14-202-137-_-Product

For this r9 280x model it says that "750 Watt Power Supply is required.
1000WattPower Supply is recommended for CrossFireX System.
2x150 Watt 8-pin PCI Express power connector is required.
4x150 Watt 8-pin PCI Express power connector is required for CrossFireX system."

The PSU requirement seems really high... also it says that it requires 2 8 pin PCI express connectors. The PSU im looking at (EVGA 600b) has 2x6+2 pin connectors, since obviously 6+2 adds up to 8 would they be fine in place of the 8 pin connectors?
