gtx 960 not that much better than 760?

well I have seen benchmarks and the gtx 960 doesn't seem to be much better than the 760... is nivida downgrading the 60 cards so we buy there higher end ones? also how much improvement did the gtx 960's big brothers get compared to the 960?

Well, the gtx 760 was designed to be in both gtx 760 and 760 ti places. Where as the gtx 960 is designed for that specific price point, there will be a gtx 960 ti that will be faster than a 760.

That's a good point. There's a huge gap in performance/price between the GTX 960 and GTX 970. A GTX 960 Ti is very likely to fill that gap. The GTX 960 is more of a lower mid-tier card, while the GTX 760 is more like an upper mid-tier card.

A 960 is a little faster than the 760 it replaces for a cheaper price. It's also more energy-efficient.
