Things changed: Went from an i5 4690K to a G3258 and went from a 750ti to a 970. my budget is around 600 so a little over. Wanted to know everyones thoughts before I buy. Things I will do is play video games, record gameplay, edit videos and school work.

Thanks in advance!!

I already have an ssd so that saves on that. Also is a dvd really important now-a-day? Because that can be extra savings as well.
Now what has me thinking is how much of a performance difference I would see between the i3 and an i5.

Thank you soo much for all your help! Luckily I already have an SSD so I do not have to worry about that :) and since it is an i3 and I will not be OCing I can take away the EVO as well to save some money also.

I picked the 4150 because the 4160 showed different bios version for the motherboard and I didn't want to get into that problem.

What's a good way to check if the bios will be able to run a 4160? I was also looking at this MOBO

if this is a gaming rig please go with at least a quad core lol also the r9 290 is comparable to gtx 970 and it actually has 4gb of unrestricted vram opposed to the split vram portions on the 970 a 3.5 and .5 blah blah blah. i hope you haven't purchased your system yet.
