Hey everyone. About 2 weeks ago on my old PC, I started getting this weird crackling audio problem when people talk in games and such. I literally did everything I could, troubleshooting for hours a day and could not find a solution. Around that time I decided to build a new computer (not solely because of the audio) I have a new high end system running on 8.1 as my last one did.

Specs

Intel i7 5930k
Asus X99-PRO Motherboard
GTX 980SC
1TB Mushkin SSD
16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengence

Absolutely everything in the rig is brand new, down to the power supply and even a new headset. Yet, when I go into games or on Teamspeak or mumble and hear people talk really quick, a loud pop sound occurs before their voice. This is the exact issue that was happening on my completely separate rig. You may think i'm crazy, but i'm not. The only possible solution I could come up with is my computer being connected to my UPS. I disconnected it and just plugged it into a surge straight into the wall. Well that didn't fix it. Now i'm completely stuck, out of hope, out of options. This is driving me up a wall....

Hello... 1) What are you using for your PC hardware Audio output? CHIP/Card/Software or hardware based processor.
2) What are you using to Amplify your signal.
3) What are you using for speakers?
4) Have you tried any other Bit rates/Freq resolutions from your PC hardware audio output?
5) current Bit rate/freq?

Hello.

1. The realtek onboard sound
2. amplify? Nothing I guess. Just have my headset plugged in and manage the volume on screen
3. Senheisers PC 363D headset
4. Yes
5. The lowest one, CD quality 16 bit 44100 htz

Hello... i'm using 6.0.1.6662 24 bit 44.1 with no such problems.
Go to the Sound APP and try some setting there for TABs
1) Communications / " do nothing"
2) Recording / Microphone / properties / Enhancements / " immediate mode " and DC offset cancellation
3) Recording / Microphone / properties / Advanced / " un-check Exclusive mode"
4) Playback / Speakers / properties / Enhancements / " immediate mode "
5) Playback / Speakers / properties / Advanced / " un-check Exclusive mode"

I can try those, but I highly doubt that is the cause. This is the same thing on 2 PCs that i've had. The first one I didn't even have realtek drivers installed when it started happening.

I have "Acoustic echo cancellation" no DC offset

Hello... Alot of Times it can be from the Signal that others are sending to you...
You can have the best system on your side of the wire... but If they are sending you a a BAD signal then they have their equipment set up wrong... or is defective... bad connections.
1) Ask them all to Shut off AGC on their Sound APP, for their Microphones. this stands for Automatic Gain Control and if they just breath, the circuit will automatically increase the volume of the noise created.
2) Also to not have their Mics set on " Boost"

You might find that there is ONE person on your Team that is causing all your Audio grief.

It also happens when I test the playback device in the sound options. There is a click before the test audio starts in each ear. Very annoying. Forgot to mention it but not nearly as annoying as when people talk. This stuff had never happened to me before, until a couple weeks ago.

Hello... How is your Connection at the END of your HEADPHONES? Pulled on a few too many times? they use some pretty small/thin wires on some headsets and a simple pull can break those wires/connections.
I have replace quite a few headset cables in my day.
Have you tried another set of headphones or a different output from your MB connectors? as a test?

Ok so I think this has been fixed!

IDK what I did, my computer sits on carpet, I haden't cleaned it in a while. So I vaccumed the entire area around the computer and my desk. Everything seems fine now, perfect audio. How strange is that!? :)
