I had this hard drive I bought almost a year ago, a 1TB Western Digital Blue. Ever since the day I bought it I always encounter problems, like freezing, errors on startup, partition inaccessible and so on. Some while ago I bought an SSD just to host my OS, and put programs and everything else on the hard drive. It ran smoothly, until now...

The aforementioned problems showed up (except freezing). Programs stopped working, accessing the hard drive took forever, and sometimes I can't even access it (just poofed out of my computer). Sometimes when I have multiple programs running, all of them just froze at the same time. Ending it through task manager at one point will yield BSoD. I even consider myself lucky to open Chrome and write this. Right now, I can still access part of the disk, but almost all of the program cannot run.

Can I fix this, or the hard drive just beyond saving?

What I've done:
- Ran CHKDSK. no errors found, 0kb on bad sectors.
- Ran HD Tune. Program crashed midway (along with other programs)
- Ran SFC. No errors found.

Specs:
- AsRock H97 Performance
- Intel i7-4790
- Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT
- SanDisk SSD 128GB
- WD Blue 1TB
- 2 x 8GB DDR3 RAM
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Hello there, Rokuma!

I'm very sorry to hear about your issues with the WD Blue drive. :( You should have contacted someone at Western Digital as soon as you've encountered the issues, though! I'd suggest you to download WD's Data LifeGuard Diagnostics tool and test the drive's health and check up on the S.M.A.R.T. status. Make sure you pass the extended and the quick test. Here's a link to the utility: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=PqHAvT

Let me know what the SMART data shows! Your drive should still be within the warranty, so you should be eligible to get a replacement.

Keep me posted!

I've done both quick and extended test on both drive. The SMART status on WD disk shows red fail.
I'd upload a screenshot, but it's taking forever to upload.

I'm so very sorry to hear about that, Rokuma! :(
Unfortunately, it seems like your WD Blue drive has failed. I'd recommend you to get in touch with our tech support and send out your RMA request. Since the drive should still be within the warranty period, you should be able to get your replacement product.
