Recently purchased the r9 290 and keen to get a bit more performance out of it even tho it has been amazing so far (upgraded from a 5850) and was a little confused by the new overclocking interface. Looked up some videos and got a general idea but was curious if my PSU would be able to support the +50 power limit and if it would void the warranty if i moved the power limit to +50. My psu is VS650 which pushes 50 amps on the +12V rail. Thanks in advance!

One more question, My brothers computer (doesnt use it) has a real power 650W by coolermaster would that be considered better than my current psu? I couldnt find that on the tier list.

Coolermaster Website product id: RS-650-ACAA-A1

A quick google of the product code lists it as part of the GX series, but it is a discontinued product from 2008 so must be getting on its years and could probably do with being replaced soon, it came with a 5 year warranty which is probably long gone now.

Thank you for your quick and helpful responses. I will just save up and get a good quality psu then.
