I have a budget of about $180. I'd like to get some pretty good 16gb RAM that will last a while. I don't want to settle for something mediocre. Can someone please recommend high end 16gb RAM for gaming and having tons of programs and browser tabs open?

i do not recomend going for ddr 3 beceus ddr 4 is here that also coud mean that you need to also update you motherboard for ddr 4 but it will last you a lot longer cause if you feal like upgrading you dont also have to upgrade you motherboard

if you still want to go for ddr 3 here is some good ram Crucial 16 GB DDR4-2400 Quad-Kit, geheugen

and here is ddr 4 Crucial 16 GB DDR4-2133 Quad-Kit

What mobo and CPU? Need to know that to have an idea of what you can run. Won't do you any favors to go out and buy 2400 sticks if you can't even run them :) In the above suggestion...going to DDR4 now will yes require a new mobo (about $180 min), a new CPU (about $380 min), then of course there's also the DDR4 - also expensive. Let us know mobo and CPU and will come up with suggestions
