After I deleted windows.old, my internet stopped working. Tried safe mode, troubleshoot, and replacing the Ethernet cable. Currently trying to find a way to update my bios without internet. Any suggestions? Reinstalling windows 7 IS my last resort.
Try re-installing the network driver from the PC or motherboard manufacturer's website.
Download the driver using a working PC and copy it to a pen drive.
Then transfer it to the PC on which you want to install it.
On another note, I found an old CAT e5 cable that works for some reason on my computer. My motherboard has a orange light surrounding the ethernet port that lights up if the connection is working. It doesn't do that for CAT 6 cables, so its probably my motherboard's problem. I'm not sure why or how deleting windows.old triggered this though. Any idea's on how to get the mobo working properly?
