Worried about my CPU temps, what should I do?

I just recently built a new computer, and i'm concerned about the temps my CPU is reaching. When idle, the temps are about 37c, but when I run a stress test (Prime95) the temps immediately go to 98c. (I have also used HeavyLoad, the highest temp with that was 67c.) I know this is obviously a problem, i'm just a little unsure about what I should do. I have been using Corsair Link to monitor the temps, as well as sometimes RealTemp.
Specs:
Processor: Intel i7-4790K
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII Formula
Cooling: Corsair H80i
Case: Phanteks Enthoo pro series
If you need additional specs or info, let me know. Thank You.

So no reason to be worried then? If not, then I feel alot better about that.

Exactly. Like you said, highest temp you saw is 67c (not running prime) thats decent. Just dont run latest prime unless you want to fry something. Maybe CT will see this thread and tell you more, hes a temperature expert. Good luck.

Those "burn" apps are for stress-test your cpu and not for normal use. If during normal use, you barely hit those high mark then that's normal. If you are into heavy gaming and hit those high marks consistently and for prolong, then you are looking at a bigger heatsink/better ventilation.

Prime temp issue has to do with AVX instructions used by recent prime95 versions. Latest version 'safe' to use is v26.6.

Doesn't mean you're in the clear... 37° idle does seem rather high unless you have high ambient temps. So what version did u use?

Better use AIDA 64 'blend' (do not stress FPU only cause that will be similar to recent prime95) or OCCT or realbench.
Using those you shouldn't go above 75°-80° to be on the safe side.

BTW, H80i sucks...
