How should I go about upgrading storage?

Hi,
I currently have a 2TB Seagate Barracuda and a 120GB 840 Evo. However, I'm now running out of room (mostly due to steam games) and would like to upgrade. Would it be better to get another 2TB HDD or get a larger single one, either 3 or 4TB, and if so what unit would you recommend?
Also, I have a 500GB HDD lying around that was replaced initially by my 2TB one. What's the easiest way of formatting it and using it in my system?

Thanks.

Easiest no-frills way, would be to simply get a 2-4TB HDD you feel isn't too expensive, just mount it inside your case, plug the power + sata cord in and you're done.
Keep the 2TB drive as is, and simply load new future stuff into the extra drive you have now. Simple as that!

Or, for now you can simply put the 500GB HDD back in, you can format it in about a minute through windows. That 500GB should last you a while still before you need to upgrade.
