Gentlemen,

Just as my title describes, I am getting a black screen after installing the Intel driver on my laptop. Everything is still running in the background and I know this because when I plug it into an external monitor the laptop displays just fine. Currently the display driver is disabled so I can use the computer.

I tried installing an older driver, and getting the driver from Intel and installing from there. I am running windows 8.1.

Any ideas?

UPDATE: graphics work fine in linux

No idea what cause it. I installed Windows 7 and the driver worked fine. I'm just going to keep the Windows 7 OS instead. It's unfortunate though, with my SSD it was running pretty fast in Win 8 while it worked.
