Ok i have this problem...

am not expert at networking so i dont know how to setup my port forwarding..

i have Netgear D6200 as modem & R7000 As router...

now i`m playing online games ( mmo, rpgs etc )

and i`m using vpn`s and ping boosters to boost my lateny but when i checked in my task manager network i see firewall port status not allowed not restricted...

i checked tool online and when i chk any port tcp it says closed so am not sure about it either..

so please help me how to see if everything working fine with me & how to setup my port forward as am having packet loss and spikes and no matter wat i do and the ports i change in the vpn it stays same no change please help me if am doing something wrong or how i can make sure everything works fine as it supposed to be.

thanks,

Solution
When you have VPN, port forward is irrelevant. Your computer is directly connected to the 'net thru VPN connection, so you must take all precautions - firewalls and all.
