Hi

Finally bought an ssd and managed to fit it in my case.
The ssd is detected and can now be viewed in My Computer, after using Disk Management in control panel...

So now that i knew the ssd worked, i wanted to install windows 8.1 on it. using a bootable usb created using rufus... i finally manage after a loong time of fiddling to get the pc to boot from usb. now after the initial language and keyboard options of the windows setup, after pressing "Install now"... the following error comes up:

A media driver your computer needs is missing. This could be a DVD, USB or Hard disk driver. If you have a CD, DVD or USB flash drive with the driver on it, please insert it now.
Note: If the installation media for Windows is in the DVD drive or on a USB drive, you can safely remove it for this step.

i have been trying for about 7 hours now
i need help =[

here's some more info:
mobo: msi 760gma p34 (fx)
ssd: crucial bx100

i am using a usb 2 port directly on the mobo. i have tried a few things suggested online but nothing has been working

e.g. i tried copying some drivers onto the USB and loading them from within the installer... the problem is the mobo only has driver support up to w7. this didn't work so i'm worried that the problem is my new mobo is in fact too old

but then i don't understand since i am using the same mobo for windows 8 on my main hdd. maybe the problem is with the mobo and SSDs?

thank you for reading and i appreciate any help

Solution
make sure the SSD is connected to one of the black SATA ports.

the white once require ASMedia drivers.

if you can install the OS while connected to the black port, you can later install the ASMedia driver and switch over to the white port.

also the drivers might need to be loaded from a different USB stick than the OS stick.
