I was wondering about this as well.If we go by the minimum system requirements for GTA V, dual core cpus are not compatible. However many games have come out on PC also stating Quad core as minimum requirement but they ran just fine on Dual Core CPU's. So i think its best to wait till the game is released and then we will know for sure whether it will run on Dual Core CPU's or not. I myself have a dual core cpu so i am hoping they don't abandon us. Afterall if you look at Steam Hardware survey, you can see that almost half of all users are running dual core cpus. So it would not be wise for Rockstar or for that matter any company to lock out half the users.

Well according to game debate it says you can't play it but if GTA V is well optimized you maybe able to play it

pffft dual core obsolete is a bunch of bull, yes old ones are obsolete as are all old componets, a g3258 @ 4+ghz (easy to get on stock cooler) performs in the same leage of frames as any i3/i5/i7 out there in most any game.

Only when you start doing other things at same time as gaming does it affect performance.

Very Very few games out there claiming to be multi thread musts are really what they say, most games out there that are multi threadare in fact 1 heavy thread with many smaller threads, allowing this pentium to chew threw it like butter, that is if the developers allow the eavy thread on cores 0/1

And for this game in paticular, I currently am running the g3258 at 4.2ghz, and have an r9 280 @ 1ghz, I currently am able to play the game with an average of 58 fps, and occasionally it will drop to ~ 48-50 FPS. ultra settings preset, 1080p
