I have had a lot of trouble choosing which monitor I should get for my first gaming PC, when I think I found a good one, I look it up on YouTube or other forum sites and some people say there are issues with ghosting. I really do not want to have to worry about this issue, it looks very annoying and may ruin the gaming experience. I have been playing on an older TV for my Xbox 360, the TV is so old, it doesn't even have an HDMI port, so honestly, any screen that is 1080p full HD will be fine most likely, TN or IPS, but if I had more experience with monitors I might notice a difference. Anyway, if I am worried about ghosting for FPS games, should I get a monitor that isn't IPS (A TN monitor or whatever the difference is), that has 1ms response time and 60Hz? I know a lot of people say IPS has so much better picture quality and viewing angles than non IPS monitors, but do TN panels still have a good picture for gaming? I am getting a PC with an Intel Core i5-4690, EVGA GTX 970, 2x4GB RAM, so I will be able to max out just about any game out right now. If a TN panel doesn't have ghosting, but the picture isn't as good as IPS, is it worth going with a TN? I have a lot of questions so it might be easier if someone who has experience with gaming monitors can Skype me so I don't have to type paragraphs of questions. If anyone is able to talk and help me out, my Skype is here:

Well the main difference between IPS and TN panels is that the IPS has better colours and the TN has faster pixels, it really doesn't matter about the response time either, 5ms-1ms has the tiniest difference in gaming experience. A 60hz panel is fine too, I own an LG 27 inch monitor with 60hz, 5ms response time and playing shooters and MOBAS the monitor is fine, there is no serious delay or anything. As far as the panel a IPS would be preferred for you because of the 970 in your system and a TN really isn't required because of the faster pixels, grab a nice looking IPS and be happy with it. By the way stay cautious with Youtube because some channels can affect the viewing quality of the video... All I can say is that there is minor...

All I can say is that there is minor differences between ms timings and IPS is good for you, just don't get a gaming monitor unless you really need it, its something like 100 dollars more expensive and give barely any benefits.
