What do I do after installing new processor and motherboard?

Hello all, today I got a new motherboard and processor and I have just installed it in my computer. After I boot my computer up, it asks me if I want to start a repair or start windows normally. I select to start it normally and my computer just restarts again and I go threw the same steps again over and over. This is my first time upgradeing a new mobo and processor so I don't know exactly what I'm doing lol. I also had windows 7 before the upgrade and some things that I read said that I might have to reinstall windows but I'm not sure how to do that. If anyone can help me it would be VERY apriciated and the more detail the better lol. Thanks! Also, I upgrade from a MSI 970A-G43 to a gigabyte 990FXA-UD3, and an AMD Phenom II x4 965 to an AMD FX 8350.

Different chipsets , so a clean install would be your best option.

Backup first , because you will lose it all with the clean install.

Yes, you need to re-install Windows 7. The OS that is currently installed on your hard drive has drivers and registry settings looking for your old motherboard and processor. Not finding them, Windows fails to boot. If you haven't backed up your files, what I would recommend is either a) installing Windows 7 onto a new hard drive or b) restoring your old motherboard and processor, backing up your pertinent data files to a safe location, installing your new motherboard and processor and then re-installing Windows.

You install Windows by inserting your Windows 7 DVD or USB stick and booting from that.

It would appear you have an OS will all sorts on instructions (For hardware it can no longer find) and unable to find instructions for hardware it does see.

Of course if you have OEM Windows license this will not likely get you very far as it will not likely activate
