Just purchased 16GB of G.Skill Ripjaw X Series 1866 DDR3 RAM. When I first popped them and booted to BIOS they were already set to 1866. I booted to OS and checked Speccy to make sure they were still running at 1866 which they were.

I rebooted an hour or so later and they are now running 1466 it appears... I also noticed the latencies changed from 10-10-9-24 to 9-9-9-24... very odd.

The RAM is 1866 9-10-9-27 stock I believe.

Attached are a few Speccy screens of my RAM

Solution
Everything manual would be best.

XMP/DOCP is only for the DDR3-1866 9 10 9 28 1.50V specs the RAM is rated for.

UEFI BIOS is where you should make all adjustments.

AMD Mobo so no... I had XMP RAM in this Mobo before and was able to run it at 1866 so I do not see why I wouldn't be able to with the new RAM.

Sorry

FX-8320 at 3.9 CPU
and
Asus M5A99X Evo mobo (which I know supports 1866 natively with no OC)

The reason it wouldn't stick is because of my Asus Suite Auto Tuner... I manually overclocked the FX-8320 to 4.0 and manually set the speed to 1866 and 9-10-9-28. Going to run 4.0 through some stress tests... Currently I have it slightly undervolted at 1.386 stock is 1.5. Do you recommend at 1.5 or what I have set at?

Also if I were to OC the RAM to 2133 would I be able to do that manually through the UEFI BIOS menu? Or does it require the XMP profile to overclock?
