I am currently rattling my brain to figure out why I only have 3.2 gb or ram usable out of 8. My current ram that i have in my computer is:

2x4gb Kingston HyperX FURY 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM

I powred down my computer and took one out and rebooted it, no problems except the system info said there was 4gb available. So i then powered down again and tried my other stick and i get nothing on my screen, all black. Computer is on, i see my fan running ect...
Is there a way to run a diagnostics check on it or something of that sort to see if it is indeed broken? Please let me know, i really dont want to buy another stick.

Solution
Shut down, reset the CMOS and reseat both sticks firmly in the correct slots, the Fury are PnP so they sould simply auto configure themselves

Im sorry but could you eplain that a little more Barney style (not very good on the technical terms). I just updated and downloaded all of MSI's bios and driver through their website, if that what i would be resetting?

Shut down, unplug power cable, reset the CMOS (there's a jumper you can use (see manual)) or can simply remove the mobo's battery (silver, about the size of a nickle), leave it out for a minute or two then put back in the way it was. Then reinstall DRAM, firmly, so side clips come up and lock themselves in
