So this past week I have gone from upgrading my GPU to rebuilding my entire system based around intel and back to nothing.

My main concern was my CPU and its abilitly to be OC'ed enough to run a new GPU.

With my current system and only OC'ing my CPU for now, what would be a viable upgrade from my R9 270X?

Processor: AMD Phenom II x6 1100T
MOBO: Asus M4A89TD PRO USB/3
GPU: XFX R9 270X
RAM: 16GB G. Skill 1600 (4x4GB)
HDD: 2TB Seagate
SSD: Samsung 840 Pro
PSU: 1000W Corsair PSU
CASE: HAF 922

To be fair I have same cpu (3.8) as you coupled with a 290 I max bf4 and on shadows of modor I run it very high /ultra. It's still a good cpu your graphics card is the main boost you will get.
intel are a great upgrade 4670k being a real nice upgrade and probably best for gaming right now.
