The Guys who love intel Plz ignore this thread.
Also no fanboys from AMD too, This question is kind of technical so any person with technical knowledge of processors should answer.
I m an intel fan too.
But This topic is about AMD Processors.
So yeah I know that AMD FX 8350 processor has a weak single core performance.
I want to do gaming.
Is there any way to improove the single core performance so that I can play thoses games which uses only two or 3 cores.
Thank you all.

As shadow mentioned, overclocking is the way to go, highly advisable to get a powerful aftermarket cooler for it since the FX-8xxx series heat up a lot while under load, a Cooler Master Evo 212 is a great budget solution as long as it fits in your case.

The fx 8350 will still play games, even those that are primarily geared toward using only a portion of the cores. Depending on the game it may or may not lag compared to an intel chip. In a sense I suppose overclocking it would help some just like overclocking intel's cpu's adds benefit. Just be sure you have a capable motherboard since not all amd motherboards are suitable for any real overclocking of the fx 8xxx/9xxx chips if they have low power phases. Overclocking 8 cores requires a fair amount of voltage through the vrm's. Also make sure you have a solid cooler.

In terms of improving single core performance, no not really. Not outside of overclocking, core performance is something that stems from the foundation of the cpu and the architecture design of the chip. The only real way to improve the instructions per clock is to improve the cpu architecture and design. Something that tweaking by the end user can't really change much.

the thing is that the i5 cost almost double the money so its not wothing the performance defference. still u can play all current games at ultra with a good gpu

I think an i7 would be closer to double the money. It might depend on location, u.s. prices right now the fx 8350 is showing at $164. Double that would be $328 and the i7 4790k is $325. The 4690k is $227 currently which makes it only around 37% more, not 100% (double) or even close. Not counting the lesser expensive locked core i5's. It's no different than a gtx 970 costing more than an r9 270.

yeah it depends on where u live. here in greece 4690k costs 100 euros more than 8320. they compared fx 6100(u cant buy this cpi anymore, at least here) with a 3570k. now, 6300 costs abou 100 euros so 6100 must be around 80 euros and 3570k costs 370 euros and they have almost the same performance

Lol what. A fx 6100 has the same performance as an I5 3570k? Maybe if the I5 is running at 0.8ghz instead of the normal 3.5ghz. A fx 6300 has like HALF the single core performance of an equally clocked Ivy/Haswell I5.

Also, 370€ for an I5? You can get an I7 5820k + shipping for 370€.

i m not talking about single core here. so u tell me that u can play a game while streaming and talking on skype for example with 2 or 4 cores better than 6 or 8?

Skype is absolutely meaningless, decoding videos is almost entirely done on the igpu, a billion of tabs don't add cpu load. So the gaming capabilities are determined by how the game utilizes cores and resources, where 6-7/10 games perform better on an I3 than on a fx 8350. Streaming for that matter is no different, only recording in the first place would be. On cpu recording and encoding files, the fx would do better, but since it isn't 2010 anymore all that is done by the gpu - or igpu.
An I3 + motherboard is about $180, by the way. About the same price as a fx 6350 + board. For the price of a fx 8350 you can already get an I5 4590.

Amd's strength lies in budget "workstation" cpu's. The fx 8320 gets close to xeon e3-1231v3 performance in absolutely perfectly threaded workloads such as rendering - and is up to $100 cheaper.

Overclocking is likely the only way.

Please do bear in mind that monitors and their refresh rates are often the limiting factors in fps, so whilst a benchmark says one chip is vastly superior to another, they would likely both be limited to 60 or 75 in a lot of situations.

i3 wont last the same, maybe for now but for how long? i3 can't handle so easy with games like far cry 4 and battlefield at least the cheap i3 and if u re on budget u have to go with amd. ofc intel is better, even amd fanboys know this(sorry amd fanboys :p) and you don't need 8350. 8320 is the same chip with different speed.
