Hey guys I have a small problem with my RAM and it's never happened before.

I have 2 sets of 'Kingstone Hyperx T1'. There 6 bars filling 6 slots equaling 16GB

I have just cleaned PC and reseated most things, turned my PC, was just checking some things in CPU-Z and System when I realized my Installed memory was 12.0GB with 8.00GB Usable. This is strange because in CPU-Z I can see all 6 slots filled and responding under SPD Tab but the Memory Tab shows 12GBytes.
Before this all when I went to Control Panel > System and Security > System. The RAM read 16GB

note: I did read somewhere that I could change maximum memory and untick it, checked this and the previous owner seems to have done that to allow the 16gb?

UPDATE:I restarted PC and got an error about 'Locating Lost DRAM', Restarted it again to no avail, tried a 3rd time and here I am. Got passed the Locating part but the ram is still the same. Stuck at 12gb, 8 usable and what appears to be 6 full slots in CPU-Z. Double checked that both sets are seated together(3's) and properly, all in firm.

CPU-Z still reading 6 slots full but 12GB.

Help please! How can I get my missing ram back! He's out there all alone and needs me....

Cheers,
Cary

Hi Cary,
I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Support and would like to offer our assistance.

Generally you can try swapping out the kits of memory to see if all of one set is working. Plugin one set then swap out a piece at a time to see if one can be identified as the "missing" memory.

It also sounds like the memory modules you have are different capacities since 6 does not divide into 16 evenly. So make sure the memory is inserted so that the memory with the same capacity are paired with each other. Otherwise there may be balancing issue that could be making the memory unusable.

If you can provide the model number of the memory starting with "KHX" or "HX" and the model of your motherboard I can help more specifically.

Thank you for using Kingston HyperX memory!
