Hey guys and girls, so i'm building a new gaming/editing x99 machine (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/g6pDFT) and i was about to buy asus gtx 970 strix but i read that it doesn't cool vram well.then i was about to buy evga gtx 970 which is the smallest card that fits well in my microATX case (thats why i can't buy gigabyte one) but i heard that evga gtx 970 does coil whine (aggghh that noise :p)
but i don't know evga seems the cheapest one 320$ while strix is 330$ every dollar for me is important. also msi one looks good but everyone is talking about fan problems and sound.
please help me to choose between MSI-EVGA-ASUS
THANKS!

Solution
+1 for evga

I have the GTX 970 SC 4gb version. Completely silent with fans spinning at 1,000 rpm. Runs around 30c on idle in my system even with fans off (I'm using EVGA Precision to manage the cards performance).

I can hear no coil whine.

Mine cost $499 AUD, so that would be about $350 US

I have the msi gtx 970. from what i've heard and read the cooling is better than it's competition(at least evga and asus) and comes with the best out of the box overclock.

eitherway, just get the cheapest one of gigabyte/asus/evga/msi. they all perform about the same. dont have experience with other smaller brands like zotac etc.

well as long as u get one of the new revision you're fine the SSC comes with a back plate (which alone costs 20$ i think )

also all the SSC cards are of the new revision i think (fans off/straight heatpipes/133% power limit)
