Hi guys just got this card the second fan spins on start up then stops. The card maintains good temps on idle with one fan. The second fan kicks in when the card gets to 50 - 60 plus while gaming and furmark and maintains a good 63 degrees on full load using furmark on top settings. Once card cools down to the 30s the fan stops.

Is this normal ??

Card is 2 x 8pin if that makes any difference.
Most I see on the net are 6 + 8

I'm running latest ccc drivers

Pc spec
i5 4670k
Msi h97i mobo
Windows 8.1pro
Corsair h80i
Xfx psu

Have said the the vapor x models w the single fan controller and the sapphire support are saying possible hardware issue. The fan is just out warranty. I only just bought the card and it runs fine and stays cool.

A few cards run 1 fan all the time and only use the other in specific temperature ranges. You can change this if it bothers you with 3rd party programs, but this is normal in most cases. As long as the bearing is not making noticeable noise, I would not worry.
