Hi!

I just bought new ram sticks to my computer since my memory was so low and I wanted an upgrade.
Now i can't get my computer to boot correctly with the new memory. I thought I looked everyting up and that there would be no "technical" issues with it. I thought these memory sticks would be compatible with my board and CPU, but I'm starting to loose hope.

The old sticks works fine and when i try one of the new sticks at the time I can atleast go into BIOS. But when i try booting it up, it gets stuck at the windows logo. When i try both of the new sticks, it won't even go past the "moatherboard screen" and i can't enter BIOS. I have tried reseting the BIOS with the pin, not the battery. Nothing seems to work.

My questing now is, have i bought ram sticks that is not compatible with my CPU or motherboard?
Or is it just some BIOS issue that i am not aware of?

I am quiet in a dispare here and would be so greatfull to any tip and answer.
Thanks in advance!
Kind Regards Simon. /Sorry for the bad English, Peace!

According to Corsair memory compatibility search here, the new (as is the old memory, of course) is compatible with the P55-CD53 motherboard. So the new memory should work, unless one or more of the DIMM's are faulty.

If the new memory (by itself) doesn't appear to work, try ONE of the new DIMM"s at a time. This will help determine if one or both new DIMM's are faulty.

If you are trying to run the new memory together with the old memory, then there may be problems. In theory, two dual channel memory kits should work, provided the kits are compatible with the motherboard, but there is no guarantee. You could try one 4 GB new DIMM in slot1, one 2 GB old DIMM in slot2, one 4 GB new DIMM in slot3, and one 2 GB old DIMM in...

You could try one 4 GB new DIMM in slot1, one 2 GB old DIMM in slot2, one 4 GB new DIMM in slot3, and one 2 GB old DIMM in slot4. This configuration sets up the two dual channel kits to run in dual channel mode for each of the kits.

If the setup (still) doesn't appear to work (as it seems at the moment), then adjustment of some voltages could be tried to help get the two kits running together.
