did i break cpu?

So i got a new cpu, i put it in, i put cpuheatsink and cpu heatsinks powercable in mobo. Then i just plugged the big black powercord to psu while psu switch was in on mode.. Did i rip my cpu? Im getting no signal detected.. I also tryed the huge list of things to try. Nothing work. Im running out of ideas atm.. Someone help? Specs: asus h81-plus mobo. Gtx 750ti twin frozr. I5 4690k corsair cx600 non M. Hyperx savage 8gb ram. Thanks everyone. Also sorry for my shet english :D

Try turning the power switch off, unplugging the power cable from the wall to the power supply and wait a few minutes. Plug it back in and turn it on (so long as everything else is plugged in). Make sure 4/8 pin cpu cable is plugged in, 24pin mobo cable, hard drive data and power, all the front connectors like power button and reset switch etc. If nothing happens, either there's an issue from whatever happened with the power or it could just be that the h81 isn't working with your 4690k because it needs a bios update. You're using a new cpu in an old motherboard that may not support it with an older bios version. Some boards you can update with a flash drive, others you need to install an old cpu made for that board in long enough to...

Yeahh mobo lights up green, little backpanel connectors are right i double checked, tryed with 2 ram sticks and with one.. Just ask if need more informarion :p kinda braindead atm...

yeah kinda tryed everything you beasts said, didint work. i think its che cpu which is dead.. it ran around 5 mins and i turned it off and put my finger near cpu to heatsink, and it wasnt any warm.. even its idle like 30c but i should still feel it, and i got the "speaker" plugged in to mobo to right spot, same to all connectors i double checked them, and i sent it to bios-update which they did already. im mad :ouch:

if you have warranty you should go get it replaced,But imo if you damaged the CPU from static electricity you would've have also destroyed your mobo/ram so maybe the cpu was bad already?Doesn't make sense though.


this is weird because if there was a hardware issue the speaker would've beep'd 2 or more times,my last guess is the power supply.there mite not be enough power if say you have everything connected correctly.....so try a new PSU,you can buy one from amazon and send it back later.:p


I'm out of ideas after that
