You reached max 80c temp. Nothing crashed. Sounds fine.
Not 100% sure on GTX 970 settings. Also what do you mean by you "changed it" regarding the ram?
You may want to stress test it using Furmark or something for a few hours in one go, to make sure it is stable.

by changing it i mean Memory Clock was 7000, i changed it to 8500, and Boost clock was 1000, made it 1350.
Rather than download furmark, cant i jsut play battlefield hardline for few hours or stress test would be better?Lastly, Is it a nice OC overall, nice boost from core clock?

Nice is defined by you...are you happy with it?
Games aren't as consistent in their demand to the card. A stress test when you are going somewhere or overnight will show you the true stability of the system.
However if you play games on this setting and it never crashes you can expect that it is stable.
My method is more for finding the highest limit where stability is not compromised.

I Upped it a bit and downloading Heaven valley now for a test. Thanks btw
No problem, play with the settings safely, make sure to try and link power vs temp target. Pick your priority and what I would say is:
Try smaller steps first. If your 1350 setting worked, try 1400. Then try 1425 etc till you hit the limit.
You don't want to endanger your nice card!

heaven valley keeps on crashing so im slowling decreasing stuff till everything is stable
