Thanks. I'm working in video editing and getting picture tearing while capturing through hdmi. Caputring, using Avermedia capture card. I've researched some and find that boosting the fps may help. But, I have no idea where to go or how to boost the fps. I've gone to the control panel for Nvidia geforce 760 but all i see is an option to change the frame between 1-3. I've tried all three but it doesn't stop the tearing. I've also gone to the control panel for avermedia and no option for fps. Hope this gives you more of an idea on what I'm trying to accomplish here. Any suggestions or guidance would help.
It sounds to me like you're trying to capture a video game session, correct me if I'm wrong. Since the GTX 760 (which I also have the displeasure of owning) is quite a weak card, and produces low framerates while under stress. First thing first, run Furmark and post your results, that could be helpful. Also, you might want to download the software for your card, so it would help to know who the manufacturer is. Thirdly, try to play either less demanding video games or on lower settings.
Once again, this sounds like a problem due to an insufficient GPU (I know the struggle). I would recommend to either switch out to a better GPU, or try to make the best of what you have. Keep in mind that capturing video games is much more demanding than just playing them, so you will need to player on lower settings than what is recommended.
